LARGEST TEXACO SERVICE STATION OPENS IN LUXEMBOURG

Drivers using Luxembourg’s inter country motorway, the E25, will now be able to fill up at the largest Texaco service station in Europe, offering a quicker, more convenient service.

Following extensive redevelopment work, the Aire de Capellen Nord service station, situated some ten kilometres from Luxembourg City and close to the Belgian border, will have space for 12 trucks to fill up with fuel, an increase of seven tanking positions. At three times the size of the original site, Aire de Capellen Nord will be Texaco’s biggest service station in Europe, offering a range of diesel and unleaded fuels at a highly competitive price for inter country drivers in the region.

The site, which covers an area of 60,000 sq metres, will eventually have parking space for 75 trucks and 200 cars. In addition to the dedicated truck tanking positions, Aire de Capellen Nord service station also has 20 refuelling positions for passenger cars, including a ‘fast lane’ for drivers in a hurry. Plans are also underway to develop a new shopping complex and restaurant to replace the existing facilities.

Quicker, more efficient service is made possible with the introduction of the latest technology, with truck tanking positions able to pump fuel at a rate of up to 140 litres per minute, whereas traditional service stations will typically pump at a much slower rate of around 90 litres per minute. Additionally, payment for fuel is convenient and swift with the introduction of secure automated outdoor payment terminals that accept credit cards, including the Texaco Card Benelux, DKV, UTA and AS24 card. Additionally, indoor payment terminals accept different major trucker credit cards.

Michel Doyen, Chairman Texaco Belgium and Luxembourg, commented: “Texaco now has its largest and most technologically advanced service station on one of the busiest inter country routes in Europe. With its size and location close to the Belgian border, Aire de Capellen Nord is ideal for driver’s looking to fill up quickly and conveniently at a competitive price.”
