Texaco opens the throttle with the launch of High Octane
Many customers are looking for a fuel that gives them and their cars something extra – a high performance fuel. These fuels typically have high levels of octane which is a measurement of how fuel burns.
High octane fuels are specially formulated to take advantage of a modern car’s engine control unit (ECU). When used over a period of time the ECU of some cars can adapt to the higher octane performance and so optimize the car’s performance. Depending on driving style, this can benefit the driver in one of two ways: more power for crisper overtaking or greater fuel economy for lower running costs.
Customers visiting Texaco participating service stations can experience the benefits of a higher performance fuel by selecting its specially-developed High Octane fuel which has a 97 Research Octane Number or R.O.N. as opposed to normal unleaded’s rating of 95 RON. Texaco’s High Octane also contains additives which help to clean a car’s engine and remove any build-up of deposits and regular use will keep a car engine running smoothly.
Guy Vigar, Texaco’s General Manager Retail Sales said: “High Octane is the fuel to increase your car’s potential and has been formulated to optimize performance.”
